That Butler Finally Did It!! *Fist Shake*

On the AGS forum, a relatively new member (only 4 posts) made a post about adventure games being dead. He claims that the 'Butler' did it. We all know if anyone was responsible it would be the maid, not the butler. But I digress... It is a thought provoking thread with lots of thought put into it, and has induced a bit of discussion on both sides of the line. Since I enjoy these kinds of posts, ones which bring forth discussion while not causing flame wars or arguments, I decided to post here so you can check it out and maybe put in your two cents if you feel so inclined.

EDIT : Looks like the thread got out of hand and the moderators on the forum deleted it. :(

What is readability anyway?

Gamasutra have an article up pondering the design of adventure games and suggesting that puzzles are too obscure sometimes and that is why adventures stopped ruling the earth. Somehow they call this concept "readability" which I don't really get, but hey.

Another of those "Adventures are/aren't dead" articles...

Gamasutra have put their oar into the ring (don't you love mixed metaphors?) with this article on the resurgence of adventures. And they didn't even mention AGS. Bah!

Monkey Island WTF?

It appears that today, it's Monkey Island Memorial Day. Yep, there's a lot of geeks and nerds and really cool guys on the internet. The situation is all the geeks and nerds post stuff around the net. Apart from SSH, he's the exception. He's so cool, Zaphod Beeblebrox would appear as small breeze near him. Now on-topic, according to the Adventuress, and the INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF MOJO, today you must bring your shovel, your blue grog cup, and your sword, and get those quests done again. Ah, the bloody memories...

Remake my game, AGD.

AGD Interactive has released King's Quest I remake, apparently of the classic Sierra game, doing again an awesome job on every part. If you see the comparisons in the graphic part of the game, it's really outstanding..hope they remake more of those classic adventures most of us loved back then... So grab your crown, King Graham wannabe and go here to get your free copy of the game.

-WOW behold Zork will pawn you, noob!:
Remember the text adventure Zork? Yes, the infocom one. No?! Well, nevermind me. A groip of certain individuals are making what appears to be unexpected. A version of the Zork as a browser based MMOwhatevery.. I'm not lying..check this out.

Lame list

Over at The Topless Robot (don't ask me!) they've published a list of the 10 lamest adventures of all time. So go over and get all offended that your favourite game is in there. And if you like Al Lowe, prepare for apoplexy (although if you like Al Lowe, you deserve what you get...)
