Vince sweeps the floor

No, he hasn't given up game making to become the AGS janitor, but instead he has won everything at the AGS Awards, including host bicilotti's hand in marriage (this may be made up)! Resonance swept pretty much every category it was in for, except best player character. You can see the full IRC Award log here. A few people got dressed up for the Awards too with special forum avatars.

Grundislav managed to grab both player and NPC awards, Ben304 got the short game gong and Lifetime Achievement, CaptainD won best demo (and thinks it means doom for his game), Ghost got best non-adventure, and JJS won the Innovation award for his awesome platform porting abilities. And of course, Resonance was helped by its awesome team including Nikolas Sideris, Shane Stevens, Dave and Janet and many others.

NB Winning 12 awards in one ceremony is a new record: well done Mr W!

Gesundheit! gets ready to storm the App Store

Gesundheit, yes, that really promising game by Matt Hamill, has kind of abandoned the AGS platform, but will be released under publisher KONAMI for the iOS. The price is totally endearing for 40 levels of awesome. 1.99$

We can only hope that the game will eventually gain success and be ported for the PC. As for what happens to the AGS Build.. No idea.

Anyhow, here is Matt's personal website.
And below follows a trailer of sorts. Looks definitely worthwhile. I only wish I had an iPad/iPhone to get a chance to play this. I wonder if it's playable via Android Phones though.

And to quote directly the source of information: Gesundheit! is currently in review at Apple, and could be available on the App Store as soon as next week.

Best AGS game ever gets ported to Xbox

The awesome and hyper-intelligent beings who work on the XAGE adventure game tool have decided that they should port awesome open-source MAGS-winning game Pixel Hunt by some guy called SSH using their tool. If you want to check out the original (and who wouldn't!) you can download it from the AGS games pages.

Linux lives!

Managed to miss noticing this before, but it looks like Electroshokker is well on his way to reviving the Linux port of the AGS engine! Follow the progress in the tech forum thread. Previously, since EvilTypeGuy stopped maintaining from about AGS 2.71 there's been a lack of support, but now 2.72 is in the works and he'll move on to the latest version after that. So far, its targeting the Ubuntu distribution.

AGS on Xbox?

Well, awesome XAGE developer Clarvalon has written a thing for the Xbox adevnture engine under development that can import AGS projects. Yes, that's right, you can load up your AGS game in the XAGE engine and make it available on Xbox. Those of you begging for an AGS port to another platform can faint in excitement now!
