New poll

For the first time in ages I've added a poll: this one is on the redesign of the AGS website and forum. Let us know your thoughts!

Panel poll

My commenter's wishes are my demands. Sometimes. New poll up on the fairness of the review panel. And I don't mean how attractive they are, as we all lust after Progz and LFish.

Lets decide this once and for all

OK, new poll up to try and decide whether Harg is justified in his upset about the game panel reviews of his games. Please be honest and vote on what you think and whether you have played them. NB this is not a poll on whether Harg has over-reacted, but rather on whether his games are good or not.

When I survey the wondrous AGS

Andail has set up a google-docs-based questionnaire to gauge some things about AGS. Why? No idea, but if you fancy a go, check out the thread or go direct.

Annie motion

As Annie Android goes up as the March Pick of the Month, there's also a poll for the next month...

Vote Ben

Single-handed awesomeness machien Ben304 has released another gem with "!". So, in honour of the 304th game he's made this year, there's a poll so that you can pick your favourite.

Interview with a Maniac

I just noticed this poll's results, on who you guys want me to interview..
And it ends up ME?
You really want to see me ask me about HHGTG and my life as a terrible adventure game developer?

I'll think of something. In the meantime SSH was really near, and CJ almost made it. Marion and Auriond got some cool votes too! And Tolworthy too!

Nothing happened

Sorry for the recent lack of posts, folks. I blame Dual. Or Leon. Or maybe me. Anyway... MAGS had a whopping 9 entries this month. And the current poll has finished, definately the most voted poll I've ever had. 45 people though that there were or might be too many commerical AGS games, but a resounding 80 thought everything was peachy as it is. Apparently contoversy brings in votes, so I'll rack my brains for something contentious for the next poll!

Oooh, controversy

Well, following some of the recent comments on the blog, looks like some people think that too many AGS games are commercial, so the new poll asks that very question. Incisive journalism, eh?

Polls aint what they used to be

So, you're answers to the poll seem to conclude that 2009 isn't as good a year for adventure games as 2008 was. I'm intrigued as to why this might be. Please add your comments with any examples to this post, if you feel like discussing it!

Poll flounders

So, Dave Gilbert won this blog's commercial game "bigness" poll with Blackwell Convergence and Mazoliin won the Pick of the Month for August. A new poll is up, querying if this year's AGS games are as good as last years or the year before.

Ben's box blasts others away

Well, I was a bit late updating the Pick of the Month for April but finally, your poll votes have counted. Not only did Ben get first place but second too for the best game of the year so far. Too cool for school!

Poll-y-gone

Another poll is over, and QFG2VGAwins your votes for the game which should have got more nominations in the AGS Awards. It did actually win an award from its noms, however, which is more than can be said for Ben There, Dan That which must have been the biggest loser amongst the nominees.

Second and third were The Vacuum and Life of D Duck II. Both of these games didn't win any awards.

QFG2VGA therefore becomes the March 2009 pick of the month...

Purloined poll

Well, the results are in for who was most robbed by not getting ANY nominations and looks like Barn Runner is the one who has been most diddled. However, its already the January Pick of the Month, so This Game (which came second in the poll, just ahead of Cosmos Quest 2) get to be February's pick.

The next poll is for which game should have had MORE nominations.

Post poll

Well, the poll on type of posts overwhelmingly favoured a mix of long and short. Which is good, because that's what you've got and will keep getting!

New poll is up, with some of the games that might have expected nominations in the AGS Awards listed and you can choose which one most deserved SOMETHING. Of course, there were a few that got some nominations but should have had more and maybe that can be the next poll after this one. I'll probably make the winner the next Pick of the Month if it hasn't been one already.

Pick Poll Postmortem

Well, Damsel came top with 18 votes and then came Barn Runner 5/2 with 10 votes. Dr Lutz and Odot Tamat On also did respectably and all the choices got at least 2 votes, so no-one needs to feel completely rejected!

So, Damsel is this month's pick (you can also see Leon's review of it on this blog) and I'll keep Barn Runner in mind for the future. Thanks for your input folks and if people complain now, I'll blame you.

Dec Pic Pol

You decide who is the game with the X-factor and deserves to be December's Pick of the Month. Choices on your left, choose one and cast your vote. Or you can discuss in the forum thread.

Pick of picks poll

Well, the Pick of Picks poll has closed, and Once Upon A Crime is the clear winner. I wonder if this a foretaste of AGS Awards?

Fountain of Youth and Charlie Foxtrot tied for 2nd, and Earl Bobby's Balls, La Croix Pan, Dread MacFarlane and Jessica Plunkenstein all made good showings too.

Cougar Hoohah

The new pick-of-the-moth (moth? I mean mouth, errr, month) is Cougar's Quest for Freedom, one of the least-downloaded high-scoring 3-cup games in the games DB. It's a wee gem. Sometimes MAGS and OROW inspire games that are great even when considered against games that took much longer to arrive.

And to try and judge what pick-of-the-months people like, the new poll is to try and determine what people's favourites have been this year. Please vote and I may take the result into account in future. Or just pick one at random as usual...
