We don't discriminate on colour!
As much of Ivy's game Spooks proved, a game doesn't need colour to be good, and although The Colourless Sylph does have colour illustrations, its also another good game having won the August MAGS. Congratulations, Tijne!

The forums just won't go down, biatch!!
At least not without a fight, they won't.
Oldies are complaining about the overall quality of the forum posts, and the overall quality of the forum members, all the time around the forums.
But this August, we went over by 1000 of the previous August's number of posts. More topics, more posts, less people online, same number of new recruits are the results from the comparison of August 2009 VS August 2008.
But well, can't really do much about noobs, can we? But there's been some really hard-working newbies, such as Stacy Davidson, Calin Leafshade, and others...
Oh, there's also an unstoppable religion annual topic(Powered by Miguel and Nacho)!!!(Yesterday's food I know)

Forums failing
Looks like the AGS forums are having their annual August downtime. Why not browse my back catalogue of blog articles while you wait for it to come back online! ;)

Hardy's Rosa of the D'urbervilles
You know, I'm sure there's better jokes to be got from a name like Igor Hardy, but they somehow seem to keep eluding me. Anyway, he's got up on his blog a review of Blackwell Legacy.

Post of the Mont-eh...Week: Steve McCracken is a Collateral Quantum Jelly with a Longevity Gene..
Well, back from the chain gang and all..
Games to poo your pants with excitement about:
-Dan McKracken and the Lonely Sea Monster:
Lunique Dan, the canadian hellraiser of the AGS forums, has decided to work on this game. And put some of his skills and love into it. Go Danny Go!!!
-Quantumnauts:
Midian Design, who I've also never heard of, has in production a real eye candy. And a proportional major fun game. The graphics are good, the writting seems to be of some quality, all we need is a release date. And a calendar.
-Collateral Gelly:
You are Willow. You are a girl. You also seemed to be crazy and have your hands behind your back. A definitely interesting idea and can really work out some cool puzzle mechanisms with it, says I, that Ghost has found this time. The art is quite different from what I've been used to by Ghost but it fits well. The dialogs are making me laugh even from the screenshots...
-The Longevity Gene:
Markbilly returned with some really good artistic skills and this game looks really good and exciting. It also seems to be a remniscent of BASS. The character art is really really detailed and well done. As for the story, as a usual thing in adventure games you find yourself without remembering a thing.
-Modules to check out
SteveMcCrea has released within a month the best modules I've seen in the whole time I've been spending in the forums.
-Panorama 3D
-Underwater

A primary motif of Jungian interconnectedness and synchronicity
"What?" I hear you cry... well, that's just part of the latest Blackwell review from slowdown.vg.

Wadjet Eye for the Fat Guy
Dave Gilbert seems determined to deluge us with announcements! The latest news is that the trailblazing commercial AGS game, The Adventures of Fatman is to be sold by Wadjet Eye Games and not only that, but a new "recommended" game will be announced every two weeks!
2BC
Two nice reviews for Blackwell Convergence: Rock Paper Shotgun and Gamezebo. There seems some disquiet on the pricing front, though!

Game for a new design?
CJ has posted a mock-up of his new design ideas for the AGS Games pages, as part of the ongoing and long-winded site redesign. Check it out, and then complain about it on the forums.
May or may not contain BJ
Grundislav has come up with a new game, but its not a Ben Jordan one, instead its an adult education game called Back Door Man for a TIGSource competition and contains scenes not suitable for innocent young people.

Everybody was Rabbi-Fu fighting
Hardy Dev, the occasional gaming blog from Igor Hardy, an Adevnture Classic Gaming writer, have assessed the top 8 martial arts scenes in games of all time. As well as Monkey Kombat, there's also our Dave's fight scene in The Shivah. Now, it seems somewhat adventure-game skewed admittedly, but its a fun read!

Poll flounders
So, Dave Gilbert won this blog's commercial game "bigness" poll with Blackwell Convergence and Mazoliin won the Pick of the Month for August. A new poll is up, querying if this year's AGS games are as good as last years or the year before.
New AGS versions: Linux AND Windows
CJ has dished out AGS 3.2 beta 3 and Electroshokker has put up a beta of Linux engine of 3.1.2SP1. Enjoy this new goodness!

Back to Black(well)
Well, I'm back from alternately sunny and wet Skye to find that Yesterday's Salad have reviewed Blackwell Convergence and love it. And the occasional player has reviewed two of Ben's games. And Dave announced his fanart contest winners. Probably more too, but that's enough for now!
